Dabob Bay Residence was designed by Bjarko | Serra Architects, located in Olympic Peninsula, WA. According to the Architects : ” Water, forest, and mountains converge at this family retreat above Dabob Bay, near Washington’s Hood Canal. The building is situated at the end of a ridge, surrounded by ravines on three sides. It is this positioning that affords the expansive mountain and water views to the south and the west. In response to the client’s affinity for the building type of traditional cabins, the house evolved as a modern interpretation while still recalling gable roof forms along with wood and stone finishes. The post and beam structure is expressed, allowing for the glazed infill to give transparency in all directions. The three main elements of the house—the entry, the great room, and a sleeping tower—follow the site’s meandering ridge with shifting walls that conform to the topography and the tree line. The tower offers the most dramatic experience as it reaches high above the descending ravines. Much like a forest service lookout, it provides for a 360-degree view of the surrounding environment. ”

From Architects : ” Having traveled the world, the owners wanted to come home to their own tropical paradise.
The garage/study was separated from the main house, creating a view corridor from the rear yard to the bay. the canopy overhang develops a tropical lanai; it directs prevailing western breezes across the second story windows and shades the expanse of glass from southern exposure. ”

Located in Troso, South of Stockholm, this H – House was designed by WRB Architects, H – House is a private residence in the archipelago of Stockholm situated on a beautiful site overlooking the ocean.The H-shape helps creating intimate and wind protected courtyard that prolong the summer season. The main veranda is fully under roof and an open fireplace keeps temperature up during spring and fall. The social areas have concrete floors and are kept a bit rough. The private bedroom section is elevated from the concrete and less rough with dark wooden floor and interiors. The main materials used are : concrete, rusty, steel, untreated pine wood, oiled wenge and water.

This residential villa situated in the Bruntsfield area of Edinburgh.The new building replaces an unlisted bungalow that was constructed out of prefabricated concrete panels that offered little insulation.The new building is clad in sandstone with black zinc panels. The rear elevation is almost entirely glazed, with a large frameless glass wall from the living and dining room looking out over the garden.The internal arrangement of rooms is open plan, with the spaces divided by large menhir walls.
