Designed by Studio Ectypos, this residence located in Seattle, WA. Designed for an internationally renowned landscape architect and his wife, the house has as its premise the creation of discrete and relaxed spaces, interiorized and directed in capturing light and views while being respectful to the tradition and scale of the older Seattle neighborhood. The interior is a sequence of interpenetrating spaces while outside the full development of the garden harmoniously complements and enhances the architecture. This Villa view Vriezenveen is located in Netherlands, designed by Zecc Architecten. The house follows the linear structure of the landscape. The black outer walls of the zinc is applied in long, horizontal strips with folded seams. The sheen and slightly uneven finish of the material, the house responds to a subtle way the colors of the Dutch air. With the dark, subdued colors, the house fits into the landscape more than the large farms with their orange roofs. [ Zecc Architecten ]

The home takes great advantage of the environment and the topography on which it sits. The steep sloping site allows the home to be split horizontally into functional areas, while a lift and stairs link the zones together. The ambience and mood of the residence has the fantastic ability to change constantly depending on the time of day and weather conditions. A play of light and shade is created by the horizontal and vertical sunshades. [ EJE Architexture ]
